Our intake screens for findings that deserve a licensed professional before self-tracking is appropriate. When one appears, routine suggestions are paused — and you can export your answers to bring to the appointment.

We screen for

  • Smooth circular patches
  • Possible scarring — shiny, smooth areas
  • Wounds, discharge, or persistent inflammation
  • Sudden diffuse shedding
  • Systemic symptoms alongside hair loss
  • Medication reactions, including severe ones
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding with hair-loss medication

Screening depends on honest answers, cannot detect what it doesn't ask about, and can miss conditions. A clear result never means nothing is wrong — it means nothing we ask about was reported.

Who HairProof is not for

  • Anyone under 18 — hair loss in minors should be evaluated by a clinician
  • Sudden severe or patchy loss that hasn't been professionally evaluated
  • Suspected infection, scarring, open wounds, or significant inflammation
  • Medical emergencies of any kind
